Skillethead
Setting roots in the high and dry Central Oregon desert, Skillethead calls forth the best of bluegrass old and new. They ground themselves firmly in the bluegrass traditions of driving fiddle tunes, layered harmonies, and single mics, all the while weaving in inspiration and originality gleaned from genres far and wide. You can expect to hear a Stanley Brothers number right alongside a stirring original or a rollicking rock cover done in Skillethead's own unique fashion. The spectrum reaches far and wide, the bluegrass universe is expanding, and Skillethead is on that ride!
JuJu Eyeball
“Bend’s Beatle Band” since 2015 (voted “Central Oregon’s Best Cover Band” in 2021), Juju Eyeball’s energetic shows and top-notch musicianship hit the sweet spot with the audience from the first downbeat. Now a four-piece featuring Dan Larsson on bass/vocals, Kye Kennedy and Terence Barham on guitar/vocals, and Matthew Fletcher on drums/vocals, Juju Eyeball continues to please audiences at every show while they rock the most famous catalog in music history. Its members have toured with Grammy and Emmy winning artists, been on MTV, and people who saw the Beatles live back in the day have expressed amazement with what the band brings. Scott Pemberton’s sound is much like the vibe of his native Portland home: freaky, fun and just the right amount of weird. The best way to categorize his music is with the moniker “Timber Rock”. Scott naturally applies his own lens/stamp to the sounds of the Pacific North West, the region he has always called home. The deep jazz, NW rock/grunge, blues roots and the west coast funk. It’s all there, and often all in the same song. Listeners are finding this honest, original and to-the-point music refreshing and fun. The mastery of his guitar playing combined with the fun recklessness of his songwriting show that the rules of songwriting and playing the guitar no longer exist for him. Scott plays with the uninhibited joy and intensity of someone who recognizes that every time we make music is an honor and a gift.
