Billy and the Box Kid emerged as a duo in the Bend open mic scene when Singer-songwriter Anderson Koenig (stage name Billy) and percussionist Scottie McClelland (The Box Kid) collided, both looking for an outlet for their musical talent. They combined Koneig's fast- paced acoustic Rock'n Roll with McClelland's distinctive high energy style of playing the cajon or "box drum". The band has since expanded into a five piece group with the addition of Tommy Lutz on mandolin, Ryan Harris on lead blues guitar, and Ben Woessner on bass. This collection of local musicians have quickly grown into one of Bend's favorite live acts combining musical influences of old school Rock'n Roll, country, bluegrass and southern blues. Their mission is to get folks out on the dance floor stomping their feet.
