Worthy Brewing Announces New Marketing Director

BEND—Worthy Brewing today announced Meghan Hoey as its new marketing director. Hoey will lead the marketing team in developing strategic and operating plans to further Worthy Brewing’s long-term objectives.

“Meghan has the right experience and a passion for beverage marketing that will help Worthy Brewing achieve its sales and marketing goals ,” said Worthy Brewing CEO John Glick.  “We’re excited to have her on our team.”

Hoey brings six years of sales and marketing management experience in the beverage industry, formerly working as trade marketing manager for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates in Woodinville, Washington. Hoey holds an MBA in Sustainable Business Strategy from Seattle University and a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University.

“I am thrilled to work with a craft beer brand that has such a compelling story to tell,” said Hoey. “The more I learned about Worthy Brewing’s commitment to local and sustainable business practices, the more I wanted to join this team and help continue to build the Worthy brand. I look forward to helping tell Worthy’s story, reaffirming its commitment to our community, to our environment and to producing award-winning craft beer.”

Founded in 2013 and located in Bend, Oregon, Worthy Brewing brews a full portfolio of craft beers, including its new Strata IPA, Lights Out Stout, Easy Day Kolsch and Kama Citrus IPA. Hops are the heart and soul of Worthy Brewing, and was founded on the vision of bringing new hop flavors to the pint glass from new hops emerging from the OSU-Indie Hops Breeding Program. Worthy sources much of its hops from Oregon and Indie Hops in the Willamette Valley, and only uses Salmon Safe hops. In its mission to support its local economy and operate sustainably, Worthy continues to invest in green technologies and practices. Some of these include: a 40 kW solar power system, a solar hot water system, dark sky preservation lighting, a green waste compost program, pre-treating brewing effluent, and beekeeping. Worthy is also home to the world’s first Hopservatory, a 16-inch reflecting research grade telescope housed in an 18-foot dome for star-gazing, operated by the Worthy Garden Club, a 501c3 nonprofit, whose mission is to educate, and foster appreciation of our earth’s natural resources.
